Language and preferences

OpenWatch adapts to how you like to work: interface language, light or dark theme, and the currency used for cost figures.

Interface language

OpenWatch is fully translated into five languages:

  • English (default)
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • German

All interface text, form labels, flash messages and validation errors are translated.

Changing the language

Use the language selector in the navigation bar to switch at any time. If you are signed in, your choice is saved to your profile and used the next time you sign in.

How the language is chosen

OpenWatch picks the language in this order:

  1. Explicit choice: a language you selected in the current session.
  2. Account preference: the language saved on your profile.
  3. Browser: the best match from your browser's Accept-Language header.

If none of these resolve to a supported language, OpenWatch falls back to English.

Light and dark theme

OpenWatch supports a light and a dark theme. Toggle it from the interface; your preference is remembered on your device so the app opens the way you left it.

Currency

Cost figures can be shown in CHF or EUR. Choose your preferred currency from the interface, and dashboards and reports display amounts in that currency.

Conversion is applied to cached data

Switching currency reformats the figures you already see without re-fetching from the cloud, so the change is instant. See the cost dashboard for how spend is displayed.
